Where to find romantic dive resorts in Fiji

• One of the top diving spots in Fiji is the Rainbow Reef and it is accessed from Taveuni. Maravu Plantation Beach Resort & Spa is a luxury romantic resort and not only offers scuba diving, but includes it in one of its honeymoon packages! Nearby is Taveuni Island Resort as well as Taveuni Palms luxury retreat, and diving can be arranged for you at either property. More modest options in the Matei area include Coconut Grove Beachfront Cottages, or try further down the coast at the eco-friendly Nakia Resort & Dive, the hotel-style Garden Island Resort, or the new Paradise resort near Vuna. All of the latter three properties have their own on-site dive operations.
• In Savusavu on neighbouring Vanua Levu island are more romantic diving honeymoon choices. Tony Robbins' luxury property Namale or Lomalagi Resort further along overlooking Natewa Bay, both offer diving activities. The Jean-Michel Cousteau Fiji Islands resort, as its name implies, provides access not only to great dive sites, but has an on-site marine biologist. Smaller, boutique retreats such as La Dolce Vita villas can also help you with diving, while for something different, board the three-masted Tui Tai for an adventure and diving experience that takes in the best of Savusavu, Taveuni and this northern region.
• Kadavu Island in the far south of Fiji is also well-known for its diving as it is located close to the Great Astrolabe reef - fourth biggest reef in the world, being 120 kilometres long. Kadavu is fairly remote and access to many resorts from the airstrip at Vunisea is via boat rather than road, due to the somewhat impassable highlands hinterland. Suitable resorts here might include Matana, Matava, Tiliva and Papageno. Lomani Island Resort, located near the island of Vomo offers luxury honeymoon accommodation and is the first one of its type in this region.
• On the main island of Viti Levu, Pacific Harbour is a base for dive trips to Beqa Lagoon dive sites, including shark feeding dives if that is of interest. The Pearl South Pacific is a stylish beachfront resort and a good honeymoon spot. On Beqa island itself, the Lalati Resort & Spa and the Beqa Lagoon Resort are both romantic properties who offer diving. The Royal Davui Resort is situated on a small nearby island providing 5-star luxury accommodation, weddings and - of course - diving for those scuba enthusiasts!
• One of the other main diving regions is Lomaiviti. Remotely located, it is perhaps best accessed by the liveaboard Naia'a who also cater for honeymoon guests. Or stay in exclusive luxury at the eminently credible Wakaya Club.
